Description

These French Dip Crescents are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack featuring thinly sliced roast beef and melted mozzarella string cheese wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. Served warm with savory Au Jus dipping sauce, they offer the perfect combo of cheesy, meaty goodness with a golden-brown crust. Ready in under 30 minutes, they’re ideal for gatherings or quick meals.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound deli roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 pieces Mozzarella string cheese, cut in half
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) Au Jus mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the crescents.
  2. Prepare Crescents: Separate the crescent roll dough into 8 individual triangles. Place two slices of roast beef and one half piece of string cheese on each triangle.
  3. Roll and Bake: Roll up each crescent starting at the wide end, encasing the beef and cheese inside. Arrange the rolled crescents on a baking sheet and bake for 16 to 18 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  4. Make Au Jus Sauce: While the crescents are baking, prepare the Au Jus dipping sauce according to the instructions on the packet.
  5. Serve: Serve the warm French Dip Crescents alongside the Au Jus sauce for dipping and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute mozzarella string cheese with sliced provolone or Swiss cheese if preferred.
  • For a crispier bottom crust, place the baking sheet on the lower rack in the oven.
  • Make sure to slice the roast beef thinly for easy rolling and better texture.
  • This recipe can be doubled or halved depending on the number of servings needed.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness rather than the microwave.
