Description

This Easy Cheesy Breadsticks recipe is a quick and delicious snack made with refrigerated pizza dough, garlic butter, and a blend of mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Perfectly crisp on the edges and soft inside, these breadsticks are flavored with basil and seasoned to perfection, making them an ideal appetizer or side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Base

  • 10 oz. can refrigerated pizza crust dough
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic

Seasonings

  • 1 Tbsp. dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure proper browning and melting of the cheese.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Lay the refrigerated pizza dough flat on a piece of parchment paper. Shape it into a rectangle roughly matching the size of your baking sheet for even baking.
  3. Flavor with Butter & Garlic: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and minced garlic. Generously brush this mixture over the entire surface of the dough to infuse it with rich garlicky flavor.
  4. Add Seasonings: Evenly sprinkle salt, pepper, and dried basil over the dough to add layers of savory flavor to the breadsticks.
  5. Add the Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly across the dough surface for a cheesy topping.
  6. Cut the Breadsticks: Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into long strips and then cut those strips in half crosswise to form breadstick shapes. Do not separate at this point; the cuts will guide separation after baking.
  7. Bake: Transfer the parchment paper with dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the edges are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Separate and Serve: After baking, separate the breadsticks along the pre-cut lines. Serve warm, optionally with your preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you may add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes before baking.
  • Use fresh garlic instead of minced if available for a stronger garlic taste.
  • Let the breadsticks cool slightly before separating to prevent tearing.
  • These breadsticks are best served warm and fresh but can be reheated in the oven for crispiness.
  • Pair with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
