Description

These S’mores Rice Krispies Treats combine the nostalgic flavors of classic s’mores with the crispy crunch of Rice Krispies and Golden Grahams cereals. Melted jumbo marshmallows and buttery goodness bind the mixture, layered with Hershey bars and mini marshmallows for an indulgent, easy-to-make treat perfect for parties or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Mix

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag jumbo marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (divided)

Toppings

  • 4 Hershey bars (broken into pieces)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (divided)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly butter it to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the salted butter. Add the jumbo marshmallows and stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  3. Add Vanilla and Cereals: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Immediately add the Rice Krispies cereal, Golden Grahams cereal, and 1 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows. Stir until all ingredients are evenly coated and combined.
  4. First Layer in Pan: Spread half of the cereal and marshmallow mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Evenly distribute half of the broken Hershey bar pieces and some of the mini marshmallows on top.
  5. Second Layer and Topping: Add the remaining cereal mixture over the first layer, pressing it gently without compacting it too much. Finish by sprinkling the rest of the Hershey bar pieces and mini marshmallows on top.
  6. Set and Serve: Allow the layered treats to cool completely at room temperature so they firm up before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • For extra gooey treats, slightly warm the Hershey bars before layering so they melt lightly into the marshmallow mixture.
  • Use parchment paper for easier removal from the pan and cleaner cuts.
  • These treats can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Feel free to substitute dark or milk chocolate bars for Hershey bars to customize the flavor.
