Description

This Oven Buffalo Chicken Dip is a creamy, spicy, and cheesy appetizer perfect for game days and parties. Made with shredded chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and cheddar cheese, it’s baked to bubbly perfection and served warm with chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked shredded chicken breasts (approximately 24 ounces)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and 6 ounces of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed together.
  3. Prepare Casserole Dish: Grease a 2-quart casserole dish to prevent sticking. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly into the dish and cover it with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake Covered: Place the covered dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and heat through.
  5. Add Topping Cheese and Finish Baking: Remove the foil and sprinkle the remaining 2 ounces of cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Return the dish to the oven and bake, uncovered, for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the dish from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm with chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • You can substitute blue cheese dressing for ranch for a different flavor twist.
  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time on cooking and shredding.
  • For a spicier dip, add extra buffalo sauce or a dash of cayenne pepper.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through before serving again.
