Ingredients
Scale
Brownie Base
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
Mix-Ins
- 12 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
- 12 mini Reese’s peanut butter cups, halved
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy removal of brownies after baking.
- Make the Brownie Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until the mixture looks glossy and smooth. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to ensure they are fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract. Sift together the unsweetened cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder, then gently fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients. Mix just until combined to avoid overmixing which can toughen the brownies.
- Layer the Good Stuff: Fold in half of the chopped Oreos and semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly through the batter. Pour the mixed batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Press the remaining chopped Oreos and the halved mini Reese’s peanut butter cups gently onto the surface of the batter for a decorative and flavorful top layer.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes. The brownies should be set in the center but still slightly fudgy. To check doneness, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out with moist crumbs but no wet batter. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into clean, bakery-style squares.
Notes
- For extra gooey brownies, reduce baking time by 2 minutes slightly underbaking them.
- Chill the brownies for 1 hour before cutting to achieve perfect edges and easier slicing.
- Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking to enhance the sweet and salty flavor combination.
- For an added peanut butter boost, drizzle melted peanut butter over the cooled brownies before serving.
