Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust
- 24 Oreo cookies (crushed)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
For the Cheesecake Filling
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 10-12 cookies)
For the Topping
- Extra crushed Oreos (for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
- Make the crust: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a ziplock bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Combine the crushed Oreos with melted butter until fully mixed. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan or similar dish. Place the pan in the refrigerator to set while preparing the filling.
- Prepare the cheesecake filling: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer or hand whisk until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until the mixture is fluffy and uniform. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Stir in the crushed Oreo cookies carefully to maintain the light texture.
- Assemble the cheesecake: Pour the cheesecake filling over the chilled crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Smooth the top surface, then sprinkle extra crushed Oreos on top to decorate.
- Chill: Cover the cheesecake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow it to firm up and the flavors to meld.
- Serve: Once fully set, slice the cheesecake and serve. Optionally, garnish with additional Oreo crumbs or drizzle with chocolate syrup for extra indulgence.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
- Press the crust firmly to ensure it holds together well when slicing.
- Whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks carefully to maintain a fluffy texture in the filling.
- Chilling overnight improves texture and flavor melding.
- This recipe can be made a day ahead, making it perfect for parties and gatherings.
