Description

These spooky Eyeball Jello Shots are a fun and festive party treat perfect for Halloween or themed gatherings. Made with strawberry gelatin, vodka, and topped with gummy eyeball candies, they offer a sweet, boozy, and visually striking snack that’s easy to prepare and sure to impress guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Shot Ingredients

  • 3 ounce box Strawberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup vodka
  • 12 gummy eyeball candies

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Gelatin: In a large bowl with a pour spout, pour in the strawberry gelatin powder and add 1 cup of boiling water. Whisk vigorously until the gelatin powder is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add Liquids: Whisk in ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka to the gelatin mixture until evenly combined.
  3. Fill Cups: Arrange twelve 2-ounce jello shot cups on a rimmed tray to prevent spills. Carefully pour the strawberry gelatin mixture into each cup, filling just below the rim with about â…› inch of space remaining.
  4. Initial Set: Refrigerate the tray of jello shots for 1 to 1½ hours until the shots are partially set and firm but not fully solid.
  5. Add Eyeball Candy: Place one gummy eyeball candy on top of each partially set jello shot, then return the tray to the refrigerator for an additional 1½ hours or overnight to allow them to fully set and firm up completely.
  6. Store and Serve: Once fully set, secure the lids on each shot cup if applicable, stack them in the refrigerator, and serve chilled when ready.

Notes

  • For stronger shots, increase vodka slightly but do not exceed â…” cup total liquid to ensure proper setting.
  • Use a large bowl with a pour spout to easily fill the shot cups without spills.
  • Refrigerating on a rimmed tray helps avoid messes in case of spills.
  • Gummy eyeball candies add festive decor and a fun texture; substitute with any gummy candy as desired.
  • Allowing the shots to set overnight improves firmness and makes them easier to handle.
