Ingredients
Scale
Dairy & Cream
- 12 oz evaporated milk
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 15 oz cream of coconut
- 13.5 oz coconut milk
Flavorings & Spices
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Alcohol & Garnish
- 0.5 to 1 cup white rum (optional)
- Ground nutmeg (optional)
- Cinnamon sticks (for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine the milks and cream: Add the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, cream of coconut, and coconut milk into a blender. Blend on medium speed until the mixture is fully smooth and well combined, ensuring a creamy base for the Coquito.
- Add flavorings and rum: Pour in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and white rum if using. Blend again briefly to incorporate all ingredients evenly without overmixing.
- Chill the mixture: Pour the blended Coquito into a pitcher or sealable bottles. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the drink to chill thoroughly.
- Serve and garnish: Before serving, shake the Coquito well to redistribute any settled ingredients. Pour into small glasses and garnish each with a cinnamon stick and a light sprinkle of ground nutmeg or cinnamon to enhance the aroma and presentation.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the white rum without affecting the creamy texture.
- Shake or stir well each time before serving as natural separation may occur during refrigeration.
- Adjust the rum quantity according to your preference for strength and flavor.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- This recipe serves 8 small glasses, perfect for parties or gatherings.
