Ingredients
Scale
For the Stuffed Baguette
- 1 large baguette
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup artichoke hearts, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, diced
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed baguette.
- Sauté garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute, to build the base flavor.
- Cook vegetables: Add the diced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened and tender. Stir in the chopped spinach and artichoke hearts and cook just until the spinach wilts.
- Prepare cheese mixture: Transfer the sautéed vegetables to a bowl and mix in softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, and grated Parmesan cheese. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste and combine well.
- Prepare baguette: Slice the baguette lengthwise in half. Using a spoon, scoop out some of the bread from each half to create a cavity for the filling, making sure not to puncture the crust.
- Fill baguette: Evenly spread the cheesy vegetable mixture inside the hollowed-out baguette halves.
- Bake: Place the stuffed baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted completely and is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Slice into serving portions and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh spinach with frozen spinach; just be sure to thaw and drain excess moisture before using.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning to the cheese mixture.
- This recipe can be made ahead and baked just before serving to save time.
- Use a crusty baguette to ensure it holds the filling well and provides a nice crunch.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in an oven or toaster oven to retain crispness.
